Preventing Illegal Aliens from Obtaining Social Security Act Benefits
The order directs Federal agencies to prevent ineligible aliens from receiving Social Security Act benefits. The Secretary of Labor, the Secretary of Health and Human Services, and the Commissioner of Social Security, in consultation with the Secretary of Homeland Security, are to take measures to ensure ineligible aliens are not receiving funds from Social Security Act programs. The Attorney General and the Commissioner of Social Security are directed to expand the Social Security Administration’s full-time fraud prosecutor program, while the Attorney General and the Secretary of Health and Human Services are to establish a similar program for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. The Commissioner of Social Security is also ordered to implement recommendations from the Inspector General of the Social Security Administration's audit report to prevent and detect fraud and improper payments.
