Memorial Day, 2026

This proclamation declares Memorial Day to be observed on May 25, 2026, and proclaims that day as a day of prayer for permanent peace while designating 11:00 a.m. local time as a period for public prayer and urging Americans to observe the National Moment of Remembrance at 3:00 p.m. local time. It directs Governors and appropriate government officials to have the flag flown at half‑staff on federal buildings, grounds, and naval vessels until noon and requests citizens display the flag at half‑staff from their homes during the customary forenoon period.
