Restoring American Commercial Fishing in the Pacific

This proclamation designates that specific days are not being named, but it proclaims the restoration of commercial fishing access within areas previously restricted by Proclamations 8031, 8335, 8337, and 9478, effective June 11, 2026, by removing those monument-based commercial fishing prohibitions and restoring managed fishing in those Pacific waters. It directs the Secretary of Commerce and the Western Pacific Fishery Management Council to oversee commercial fishing under existing statutes such as the Magnuson–Stevens Act, using regional fishery management plans, science-based conservation measures, and quota/management tools to allow sustainable fishing while maintaining protections for marine resources.
