Excluding Certain Canadian Alcoholic Beverages from Importation into the United States in Response to Continued Discrimination Against the Commerce of the United States with Respect to Alcoholic Beverages
The proclamation excludes specified Canadian alcoholic beverages from importation into the United States in response to alleged continued discriminatory treatment of U.S. alcoholic beverages, effective September 8, 2026. It maintains additional ad valorem duties imposed under section 338 of the Tariff Act of 1930, which took effect after a three-day suspension ended on August 22, 2026, and responds to Canada’s announced retaliation.
