Rescission of Useless Water Pressure Standards

The order directs the Secretary of Energy to consider rescinding or amending water and energy use regulations related to various household appliances, including faucets, showers, toilets, and washing machines. These regulations, initially implemented under the Energy Policy Act of 1992, are specified in various sections of the Code of Federal Regulations (C.F.R.). The Secretary of Energy is also instructed to publish a notice in the Federal Register regarding the waiver of federal preemption of state regulations concerning water use or efficiency of these appliances.
