Ushering in the Next Frontier of Quantum Innovation

The order directs federal agencies to update the National Quantum Strategy and align agency processes, policies, and programs with that updated Strategy, with the Assistant to the President for Science and Technology coordinating the update in consultation with the Secretaries of War, Commerce, Energy, the Director of National Intelligence, and the NSF Director. It also establishes a national effort (QC-ADDS) coordinated by the APST to develop a large-scale quantum computer for scientific discovery and directs relevant agencies to support commercialization, manufacturing, workforce development, export controls, and partnerships to protect sensitive quantum technologies and maintain U.S. strategic advantage.
