The Secretary of Education is instructed to hold accountable accreditors who fail to meet recognition criteria or violate federal law, including those who require institutions to engage in unlawful discrimination under the guise of "diversity, equity, and inclusion" initiatives. The Attorney General and the Secretary of Education are also directed to investigate and take action against unlawful discrimination by American law schools, potentially impacting their status as accrediting agencies under federal law.

The order directs federal agencies to revise school discipline policies. The Secretary of Education, in collaboration with the Attorney General, is instructed to issue new guidance to local and state educational agencies on school discipline and obligations to avoid racial discrimination under Title VI. Furthermore, the Secretary of Defense is directed to issue a revised school discipline code for children of military-service families. The Secretary of Education, along with the Attorney General, the Secretary of Health and Human Services, and the Secretary of Homeland Security, is also tasked to submit a report on the status of "discriminatory-equity-ideology-based" school discipline and behavior modification techniques in American public education.

The order directs federal agencies to enforce transparency regarding foreign funding to American universities. The Secretary of Education, in collaboration with the Attorney General and other executive departments, is instructed to ensure complete and timely disclosure of foreign funding by higher education institutions. This includes reversing previous actions that allowed secrecy about foreign funding, requiring more specific disclosure about such funding, and providing the public with greater access to this information. The order also mandates compliance with these disclosure requirements for the receipt of federal grant funds.

The order directs federal agencies to establish the White House Initiative on Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), which will be housed in the Executive Office of the President. The Initiative will work with various stakeholders, including executive departments, agencies, private-sector employers, and philanthropic organizations, to enhance the capacity of HBCUs to provide high-quality education. The Initiative will also focus on strengthening HBCUs through improved institutional planning, fiscal stability, financial management, and infrastructure upgrades, as well as fostering private-sector initiatives, partnerships, and academic research at HBCUs. Additionally, a President’s Board of Advisors on HBCUs will be established within the Department of Education to advise on these matters.

Collection effort is set to begin next month. Borrowers in default could see tax refunds, social security remittances, and federal pay checks withheld to repay debts.

The federal government says it is freezing $2.2 billion in grants and another $60 million in contracts to Harvard after the university refused to accept the government's demands for changes to university governance.

The Education Department announced Friday that it would cut off all federal funding to K-12 schools in Maine unless the state complied with the president's executive order banning transgender athletes from girls' sports teams. The order directs Federal agencies to prioritize gold-standard research and increase transparency to gain new insights to aid those with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). It also emphasizes the importance of early detection and intervention to improve long-term outcomes for individuals with ASD. The order calls on all Americans to learn more about the signs of autism to improve early diagnosis, understand the challenges faced by individuals with autism, and find ways to support those with autism and their families.

The Trump II administration has intensified its crackdown on foreign students involved in pro-Palestinian protests, with Secretary of State Marco Rubio announcing the revocation of over 300 student visas, stating that visas are intended for academic pursuits, not activism. This policy shift has led to the detention and deportation of international students across various universities.

The order directs Federal agencies to restore Federal sites dedicated to history, including parks and museums, to be representations of American heritage and progress. The Vice President, in consultation with the Assistant to the President for Domestic Policy and the Special Assistant to the President and Senior Associate Staff Secretary, is directed to effectuate these policies through his role on the Smithsonian Board of Regents. Additionally, the Vice President and the Director of the Office of Management and Budget are instructed to work with Congress to ensure that future appropriations to the Smithsonian Institution align with these policies.
